At Last Finale 2006 Great Success!

for the final 2006 Friday at Last sponsored by See Lancaster could not be
more pleased with the turn out on Friday evening, July 28th in Kershaw.
Everyone involved felt it was the best-attended of any previous Friday at
Last event. The crowd was estimated at over one thousand and the surveys
indicated promotions in Camden, SC had been beneficial.
See Lancaster’s events coordinator, Linda Adams, had increased vendors
and entertainment from previous Fridays and felt that more could be
added next year since it was being so well received. Most
vendors sold out early and had to close down, while others were near
sell-out at the end of the evening. “We are having increased interest
in becoming involved from surrounding vendors. Some we had to turn down
this time” says Adams.
An added attraction to the children’s area was Steve Harris,
Lancaster’s own mime who works here in Lancaster in the schools
during the year and travels to other events in the summer. He was a
great hit with his ten foot tall stilts and miniature baby shoes
wandering around entertaining the crowds while building balloon
animals.
One of the comments overheard was that the crowds, vendors, and events
reminded them of the fun had years ago when community events were held
with rides and exhibits. It was truly a family night out with music
and dancing that everyone seemed to enjoy.
Promotions were set up around See Lancaster’s display table to call
awareness to two ot
her upcoming
events in Kershaw, the Antique Show in September and the new Hog Jam in
October. Kershaw’s plans are to hold an event every month to better
promote and market Kershaw’s businesses and the Town of Kershaw. They
certainly have a good start.
